The Butte RSVP project (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) is sponsored by and located in the Butte School District. This federal funded opportunity through the National Corporation of Community Service is for any community member age 55 or better.
Our goal is to provide the community with volunteers to make our community safer, healthier, and stronger through service. Through this program Butte RSVP offers opportunities to mentor and tutor in our schools, assist in various community organizations and agencies, and volunteer at a variety of events in the Butte-Silver Bow area. Some of our workstations include:
- The Butte Emergency Food Bank
- The Butte Archives
- St. James Healthcare
- Butte School District schools
- Neighborhood Watch
- Our community Health and Rehab centers and assisted living centers
- The Butte Chamber of Commerce
- Dancing groups, sewing groups, etc.
- Various festivals, community projects and one time events
The program also offers benefits to our members. We provide supplemental accident and liability insurance, on-going training during your chosen activity or jobs, and are offered on-going recognition event admission(lunches, dinners, banquets, etc.).
Get involved and use your experience and knowledge in your community. To join call Jami Humphrey at the Butte School District, RSVP office at 533-2508. Jami will meet with you and discuss your interests, abilities and experiences.
